NEW NO-CONTACT DRUM SEPARATION DEVELOPED

BOYNE CITY, MICHIGAN — Magnetic Systems International has introduced a new no-contact drum separator to its line of magnetic separation products. “This no-contact drum separator was developed to fill the void for customers needing continuous separation with a fully welded food-grade finish,” explains Manager Pat Markiewicz.”

“With no moving components with the product flow, the possibility of cross contamination is eliminated,” Markiewicz adds. “A great deal of in-house testing led to the no-contact drum performing better than the traditional style drum in most cases.” The new drum is ideal for hazardous products, dusty or vacuum-tight applications, and can even be manufactured to shorter heights than standard drum separators.

The no-contract drum separator is offered with an adjustable lower splitter for fine tuning, an adjustable upper damper, and access panel for easy inspections — all operating on a single electric input.

IMPROVING DRAWER-IN HOUSING MAGNETS

BOYNE CITY, MICHIGAN — Magnetic Systems International (MSI) has improved the design for its self-cleaning drawer in housing magnets. The advancement replaces a former roller mechanism with linear bearings to allow for smoother operation. With their smooth operation, these linear bearing reduce the chance of binding and are far less likely to damage cylinder shafts.

In combination with the new linear bearings are the Magnetic Systems International floating wiper seals that continuously self-align with the magnetic tube for a tight seal, while complementing the bearings for a smooth cleaning mechanism and improved wiper longevity.

The result is a drawer magnet that cleans easier, cleans better, requires less maintenance, has less downtime, and results in less cost of ownership and greater productivity.
